Today, a look at one of the senior's who's leading the charge.
Simon Douglas, is on a generational run this year. He's broke several Whitefish High School records this season.
Douglas broke a 21 year old record in the 800 back in April at the MCPS Invite in Missoula. He time in the 800 was 1:54.43. Simon beat the previous mark, set in 2004 by Matt Helgath, by a whole second.
Later in the season, at the ARM Meet in Whitefish, Simon broke a 17 year old school record, set back in 2008 by Drew Coco in the 1600 meter run, with a time of 4:21.88.
Douglas is also currently 1st on the team in the 3200 with a season best time of 9:48.35.
Last week at the Last Chance Quad, in Whitefish, I had the pleasure of catching up with Douglas and here's that 1-on1 interview:
Simon Douglas and the Whitefish High School Track team will be taking part in the 2025 Western "A" Divisional Championship Meet, Friday and Saturday May 16th and 17th at Polson.
