The Wild Northwest A: Whitefish Basketball Roundup

It's been one wild ride in the Northwest "A" this basketball season.

We're halfway through February and it's down to the home stretch for High School Basketball teams in the Treasure State.

Today an updated look at where the Whitefish Basketball teams stand with just four games left in the season.

The Whitefish Girls got off to a hot start in league play, starting 3-0 in conference contests for the first time in 20 plus years.

The Lady Dawgs currently stand at 6-3 in league play, 3rd in the conference. The Lady Dawgs control their own destiny for a spot in the Divisional Tournament. They must beat Polson to end the season and they'll automatically advance to the Divisional Tourney.

Whitefish has conference wins against Polson, Ronan, Libby 2x and Browning.

They have close conference losses to Bigfork, Browning and Ronan.

The Lady Dawgs final 4 games are: At Bigfork, At Columbia Falls and Vs. Polson.

Whitefish is currently 3rd place in the Northwest "A".

The top 3 teams automatically advance to the Divisional Tournament with the 4-7 seeds to compete in a Play-In Tournament to decide who will go to the Divisional Tourney as the No. 4 seed.

On the Boys Side the Whitefish Bulldogsa are currently have 2 Conference wins, both against Libby.

The Dawgs opened league play with a disisive victory against Libby and just beat them again on Thursday.

The Dawgs have a lineup featuring multiple juniors and a pair of seniors but their youth at the varsity level has showed.

Cooper Dudley has returned to the line-up and the Senior Night win could be a launching point. Could taht be enough for a late season push?

The Dawgs final 4 games are: At C-Falls, Bigfork and Polson.

Whitefish sits in 6th place in the conference.

The top 3 teams automatically advance to the Divisional Tournament with the 4-7 seeds to compete in a Play-In Tournament to decide who will go to the Divisional Tourney as the No. 4 seed.

Both Whitefish Bulldog teams hit the road for their next two games.

On Saturday, both teams will face Bigfork and the following Tuesday they'll match-up with Columbia Falls.
