The Whitefish Lady Bulldog Basketball team opened Divisional Tournament play, Thursday afternoon, in Hamilton.
Whitefish (No. 2 Seed Northwest) was matched up with Corvallis (No. 3 Seed Southwest) in the first round.
This was a re-match of the first game of the season.
The Lady Dawgs entered the Divisional Tourney for the 1st time in 5 years and came to play.
Whitefish opened the first quarter with a 9-3 lead and carried that lead into the halftime intermission.
The Lady Dawgs led 21-8 at the half. It was the defense making headlines as Whitefish held Corvallis to just one made Field Goal in the 1st half.
Once the nervous energy dissappeared, Whitefish truly looked lik themselves in the third quarter, dropping in 15 points and took a 36-20 lead into the final frame. Whitefish would go on to win this one, 47-31.
Avery Orme led the way with 15 while Sammie Shors poured in a season high 13 as the Lady Dawgs picked up the post-season victory.
With the win, Whitefish will now match-up with Dillon in Friday night's Semi-Final Round. Dillon defeated Browning in a nail biter, 46-41.
Friday's Semi-Final is scheduled for a 6:30pm tip-off.
