This Friday night, Whitefish High School will pay tribute to one of the greatest football teams in school history — the 2015 Montana Class A State Champions.
A special halftime ceremony will honor the 10-year anniversary of that iconic squad, which brought home Whitefish’s first football state title in 36 years (1979).
To kick things off, Young Life will host a free BBQ starting at 6pm, open to all fans and community members.
All former players are asked to contact Coach Ross with any questions.
The 2015 Bulldogs finished the season with a dominant 11-1 record, capping it off with a thrilling 17-13 victory over Dillon in the state championship. The game was decided on the final play, when Derek Kastella broke up a pass in the end zone, sealing the historic win.
Ironically, Whitefish’s only loss that year also came at the hands of Dillon — a narrow 22-21 defeat earlier in the season. The Bulldogs would get their redemption when it mattered most.
That season, the Dawgs averaged 45 points per game on offense while allowing just 8.5 points per contest, a staggering +36.5 scoring margin that reflected their dominance on both sides of the ball.
Come out to the Dawg Pound this Friday as the 2025 Bulldogs host Eureka in what’s sure to be a spirited night of football and celebration.
Catch the call live on 102.7FM & 1240 AM Outlaw Country. Kick-off at 7pm.
