Whitefish Volleyball Snags a Pair of Wins Vs. Bigfork, Ronan

The Whitefish High School Volleyball team continues to have an impressive 2024 season.

The Lady Dawgs played 2 games in the last week and won both.

Last night (Tuesday) the Lady Dawgs returned home, playing host to Ronan.

Tuesday was the first home game for Whitefish in two weeks.

It was another strong effort for the gals in green and gold, coming away with a 3 games to 1 victory: 26-24, 24-26, 25-13, 25-21.

Izzy Hartwing led the way with 18 team kills and 5 blocks.

Kaydence Blackwell had 14 assists and 7 digs.

Allie Shors had 15 assists, 8 digs and 3 aces.

Myli Ridgeway added 13 digs and 4 kills.

According to Head Coach Addy Connelly, "It was a hard fought battle. Ronan always plays tough and sees the court well.  We kept Seattle's (Adams) aces to a min. thanks to our strong serve receive of Maggie Mercer, Myli Ridgeway and Camry Kelch. Izzy Hartwig continued to be a power house on the front line.  Kaydence Blackwell brought great energy to our court  when subbing in and helped turn around some deficits that we had dug ourselves into.  Having not played for 8 days it was great to get back out on the court before we head to the Butte Tournament this weekend."

Last Monday, October 7th, Whitefish would travel to Bigfork and came away with the 3 games to 1 victory: 25-19, 25-16, 24-26, 25-12. 

According to Coach Connelly "We had a great all around showing by the team.  Game three we had a bit of a hiccup but then came out on top in game 4 with a strong finish."

Following all the action the Whitefish Volleyball team is now 10-2 on the season, 9-1 in conference play.

Up Next: The Lady Dawgs will be in Butte for the Butte Central Tournament Friday and Saturday.
