Whitefish Girls Soccer Wins Class A State Title, Boys 2nd

Both Whitefish soccer teams were back in action Saturday, competing in the MHSA Class A State Championship matches, with one team bringing home a state title and the other coming up just short.

The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs are 2026 Class A State Champions!

The Lady Dawgs delivered a championship performance built on grit, determination and relentless effort, taking full advantage of the opportunity to play in front of their home crowd at Smith Fields.

It was a special start for Whitefish, as Grace Sliman scored on her birthday to give the Lady Dawgs an early 1-0 lead. Whitefish carried that advantage into halftime.

In the second half, Jenna Kimble added to the lead with a goal of her own, putting the Lady Dawgs up 2-0. Columbia Falls would find the net late in the match, but Whitefish stood strong down the stretch to secure the 2-1 victory and the state championship.

With the win, Whitefish captures the fourth state championship in program history and the first under Head Coach Kelly Ordway.

On the boys' side, the Bulldogs made the trip to Billings to take on Billings Central in a battle for the Class A state championship.

It marked the second meeting between the two programs in the last three years, with another state title on the line.

The Dawgs battled from start to finish, keeping the match scoreless and fighting to the very end. However, Billings Central found the breakthrough in the final minute, scoring the deciding goal to hand Whitefish a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat.

The loss leaves the Bulldogs as state runner-up for the second consecutive season.

Congratulations to both Whitefish soccer programs on outstanding seasons, and congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs on bringing another state championship home to Whitefish!
