Whitefish Football is back. The Dawgs held their first practice of the 2026 season, at their new practice facility, on Friday.

The Dawgs are coming off one of their best seasons in a decade. Whitefish finished the 2025 season with an 8-3 overall record and went 4-1 in conference play. They advanced to the semifinal round of the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

Now, the Dawgs will look to build on that success in 2026.

Whitefish returns key pieces from last year's squad while simultaneously looking to fill some big shoes left behind by last year's seniors.

The Dawgs return a plethora of players who earned postseason honors a year ago, including Vlad Shestak, Leo Bungener, Luke Dalen, Sam Rainford and Jayke Thew.

That core group will look to lead the way for Whitefish in 2026 as the Dawgs begin their pursuit of another deep playoff run.

Prior to the start of the season, I had the pleasure of catching up with a pair of team captains, Luke Dalen and Braylon Dunn, as well as Head Coach Brett Bollweg to preview the season ahead.

Whitefish Bulldog Football opens the 2026 season on the road at Havre on Friday, August 28th. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
