2nd Half Surge Propels Whitefish Football Past Corvallis

It was the home opener, Friday night, for the Whitefish Bulldog Football team as they played host to Corvallis.

The Dawgs scored 24 2nd half points to soar past the Blue Devils, 31-0, for win number 3 on the season.

Whitefish got on the board first, midway through the 2nd quarter, as Luke Dalen found the endzone from 11 yards out to give Whitefish the 7-0 lead.

Whitefish took the 7-0 lead into the halftime locker-room.

The Dawgs would get things rolling in the third. Vance Schwaiger scored his first TD of the season from 2 yards out.

A couple minutes later, Dalen found Brody Forthofer for a 55 yard TD pass.

Dalen would tack on another score from 1 yard out and the Dawgs lead exploded to 28-0.

Things were capped off late in the 4th when Owen Aldridge knocked through a 31 yard Field Goal making it 31-0.

Dalen had 185 passing yards and a TD and added another 50 on the ground to go with two TD's.

Schwaiger totaled 86 yards rushing to go along with the TD.

Forthofer caught 4 passes for 73 yards and a score while Vlad Shestak totaled 5 catches for 73 yards.

For the fourth time since 2000 the Dawgs are 3-0 to start the season.

Up Next: Whitefish travels up to Eureka to take on the Lincoln County Lions on Friday September 18th. Kick-off at 7pm.
