Bigfork, Columbia Falls Sweeps Whitefish Baseball

The Whitefish High School Baseball team was back in action over the weekend, taking part in a pair of conference games.

The Dawgs  would host Columbia Falls on Friday.

Whitefish would then travel to Bigfork on Saturday.

Columbia Falls showed why they're the best team in the conference as they cruised to the 12-0 victory.

Jett Pitts got the start and tossed 5 innings of 2 hit ball while striking out 6.

Brady Matson led the way for C-Falls with 2 hits and 3 RBI while Freshman Jaxson Cadwell had multiple hits and runs scored.

The Cats tallied 9 hits in the contest and walked 9 times.

Whitefish tallied just 2 hits in the contest.

C-Falls is one win away from clinching the No. 1 seed for State.

On Saturday, the Dawgs took to the road for a match-up with the Vikings at the brand new Flathead Beacon Field.

Bigfork got on the board first in the bottom of the 1st thanks to a Hayden Mayer RBI Single.

Whitefish answered in the top of the 2nd. After Christian Schwaderer led off the inning with a standup double, he was brought home a few plays later on a Finn Ryan RBI Groundout.

The Vikings would take over in the 3rd. After a Strikeout, Ry Rodriguez would reach on error and then the Vikings walked 3 times in a row, collected two hits and scored 5 runs in the frame. Bigfork added one more in the 5th and tacked on two more in the 7th for the decisive 9-2 victory.

Mason Lewis tossed the full 7 innings pitched. He gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and struck out 2.

Bigfork has officially clinched a spot in the State Tourney Play-In Game.
