Whitefish and other area teams were in Bigfork last week, February 6th, for the Special Olympics Bowling Championship Tournament.
Special Olympics Mission "is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community."
Their Vision "is an inclusive world for all, driven by the power of sport, through which people with intellectual disabilities live active, healthy, and fulfilling lives."
A congratulations goes out to the following Whitefsih High School students who earned medals at the Special Olympics State Bowling Tournament:
Gold: Austin Raff-Moore, Christian Reeb & Rhyanna Whitfield.
Silver: Alaina Marr & Jeffrey Sagen!
