Both Whitefish High School Basketball teams were back in action late last week as they matched-up with both Columbia Falls and Ronan.
Taking a look at Friday's highly anticipated contest between Flathead Valley Rivals, the Dogs and the Cats.
It was a good day to be a Cats fan as Columbia Falls swept the Friday night contests.
In the girls game, C-Falls would take an early lead, 10-4, after one quarter of play.
The Lady Cats added to it in the second building a double digit lead but Whitefish's Sammie Shors hit a buzzer beater to end the 1st half, giving the Lady Dawgs some momentum heading into the halftime break.
Columbia Falls, however, opened up the 3rd quarter on a 6-0 run and cruised to the 60-31 victory.
Alexa Friske led the Cats with 21 points, Peyton Ross added 13 and Rylee Sweeney dropped in 10 for the Cats who improve to 6-2 in conference play.
Avery Orme led the way for Whitefish with 11 who falls to 5-3 in league play.
The Conference landscape is starting to take shape. With the win Columbia Falls sits in 2nd in the conference.
Whitefish is now 5-3 in league play, tied with Polson, but owns the tiebreaker. The Lady Dawgs are 3rd in the conference. Top 3 earns an automatic spot in the Divisional Tournament.
In the boys game, it was an eletric start as both teams traded buckets all quarter. Whitefish led 13-12 after the 1st.
Jory Hill would dominate the 2nd quarter and the Cats built a 26-22 halftime advantage.
C-Falls opened up the 3rd quarter on an 8-0 run, which proved to be the difference in the game. The Cats led 41-32 after 3 and were able to pull away late for the 59-44 victory.
Hill led the way for the Cats with 19 points. Easton Brooks and Caleb Mee added 10 each. The Cats are 6-2 in league play and sit in 2nd in the conference.
Whitefish was led by Reyd Hobart with 13. With the loss Whitefish falls to 1-7 in conference play. Whiteifsh is guaranteed to be in the Divisional Tournament Play-In.

On Thursday both Whitefish teams took to the court to face Ronan.
The Boys fell in a battle on their home court, 66-58. The girls earned a gritty 42-37 win on the road.
Following all the action, there's just 4 games remaining in the regular season.

Thursday is Senior Night for the boys, with tip-off at 7:15pm.
