The Whitefish Bulldog Football team played host to Butte Central, Friday night, to open postseason play.

Luke Dalen totaled 300 yards of offense, the Dawgs defense force a pair of interceptions and fumbles and Whitefish Football opened the MHSA Class "A" Playoffs with a dominant 52-6 win over Butte Central, on Halloween.

After Whitefish picked off the Maroons twice to start the game, the Bulldog offense got things going on their third drive of the game. Luke Dalen would run it in from 28 yards out to give the Dawgs a 7-0 lead with 5:50 to go in the 1st.

After forcing Butte Central to punt, Whitefish would find paydirt, once again. This time it was the Bell Cow, Cole Moses, scoring on a 55 yard Touchsdown run. His 4th TD from 50+ this season.

Whitefish had it all rolling. Jordan Harmon would then successfully execute an onside kick that The Dawgs recovered. Harmon then showed off the arm completing a halfback pass to Vlad Shestak.

A couple of plays later, a Sam Rainford fumble gave the Maroons some life.

Whitefish saw theri 14-0 lead cut into early in the 2nd quarter as Butte Central capitalized off the turnover. However, their PAT was blocked and Whitefish led 14-6, early 2nd.

It didn't take long for the Dawgs to answer as Dalen found Moses for a 26 yard TD pass and Whitefish was back up, 21-6.

Butte Central converted a 4th down fake punt to get them back into Whitefish territory but the Dawgs then forced a turnover on downs to give the offense back the ball with under a minute to go. After a couple of rushes and quick passes to Jayke Thew, Luke Dalen made the magic happen. Whitefish had the ball on the Maroons 38. Dalen would take off after faking the pass, his stride taking him to the 20. Then he changed course, going left and found a block and a hole and scored with :01 on the clock.

The Dawgs went into the halftime break up 28-6.

Whitefish would then force a fumble on the 2nd half kick-off, forced by Vance Schwaiger and recovered by Jordan Harmon.

Emotions started to take over on the Maroons side of the ball. After an unsportmanlike conduct penalty that force Dalen out of the game for a few plays, Bear Barker found Vlad Shestak on a pop pass and scored from 13 yards out.

It was all Whitefish from there: Moses and Dalen would each score one more time in the 2nd half. Butte Central couldn't even muster up 50 yards in the 2nd half.

Tait Orme puncuated the win with a 45 yard Field Goal to give the Dawgs the big victory.
