Whitefish Girls Basketball Shines Bright on Senior Night

The Whitefish Lady Bulldog Basketball played host to Libby Thursday night, for Senior Night.

The Lady Dawgs would also celebrate 50 years of girls basketball on the evening as the the first WHS girls basketball team, of 1974, was in the house.

The Lady Dawgs would come away with a big 46-36 victory cementing an outstanding evening.

Once the Senior Night Festivities came to a close both teams hit the hardwood for an electric contest.

Whitefish came out hot and led 12-5 after one quarter of play.

The Lady Dawgs went up in the first half by 11, 18-7, but Libby would close the 2nd quarter on an 11-0 run and the game was tied at the half, 18 all.

Viki Hileman & the inaugural 1974 WHS girls basketball team was honored at halftime. Viki - captain of that first team went on to become an All-American player.

Once play resumed in the 3rd quarter, the Lady Dawgs took control. After Libby scored on a free throw, Whitefish went on a 10-0 run led by Freshman Allie Shors and took a 30-25 lead into the final frame.

Reese Hudson knocked down a pair of big 3's, Allie Shors continued her 2nd half dominance and Whitefish secured the big 46-36 win.

Shors would lead the way for Whitefish with 17 points (14 in the 2nd half).

Stella Frisbee added 8 in her best game of the season while Charlize Ullrich had 8 as well.

Hudson finished with 6 while Yoli Krastev had 5.
